A complete overhaul of the ReptileStore.ca website. Launched in phases, the site will currently features a custom WordPress theme with the WordPress CMS back-end, jQuery galleries and will contain a full e-commerce store in Phase 2.

Center of Impact
The Center of Impact, Registered Massage Therapy website provided me my first oppourtunity to build a site that was HTML5-compliant. Armed with these new web-standards as a base, I launched a site that not only pleased the client, but gave a new business a solid footing with which to begin their online branding.

WeatherEye 4.0
Used by over 2 million Canadians, the WeatherEye is the flagship desktop application from The Weather Network. Launched in September 2010, version 4.0 brought a completely new UI, new features, all with the same trusted weather content that Canadians have come to expect from The Weather Network. Developed over two months, I was the lead designer in bringing the new WeatherEye to life.

European Excursion
This past May, my wife and I headed off to Europe for our honeymoon. We were married last June and saved up enough money to take a three week excursion, criss-crossing the European continent. Armed with a 32GB card, a Nikon D70 and two lenses, the results are spectacular.

Rosedale Ladies’ League
The Rosedale Ladies’ League is a fastpitch league run in East Hamilton. With a base of a few hundred players, they sought an identity for their league materials; clothing, trophies, scorebooks, etc. Created in 2004, the identity is still used today.

FotoFlare Photography
Designed and launched over a two month period in the spring of 2010, FotoFlare is a local Hamilton photographer, specializing in weddings, portraits and lifestyle photography. Built using a custom WordPress theme, the site was a complete overhaul from FotoFlare’s previous materials. The new site includes a WordPress-powered blog, multiple image galleries and a minor store.

The websites are clean, aimed at their clientele and showcase their business in the way they dream of. They provide a smooth user experience, based on the latest web trends, with a few of my own trendy techniques thrown in there for good measure. Whether it’s as simple as developing the user-experience of your site, or as intense as creating custom WordPress plugins, I have done it all before. I am fluent in the latest web technologies, such as PHP, jQuery, HTML and CSS. By having these skills, I save my clients the added expense of out-sourcing to a developer. All of the necesary skills to built a complete and functional website rests with Take The Leap Designs. And hey, if I’ve never done it before, I’m always game for new challenges.
